With three millimeter thickness in aluminum surroundings, the SR2’s body shields the enclosed drives durably and at the same time dissipates the heat created by the drives greater and faster for the drives to work comfortably.

The core of SR2: RAID1 mirroring technology The internally built RAID 1 controller in the SR2 controls all data entering the system by duplicating them into two sets and then storing them in real-time into the two drives enclosed so you’ll always have two sets of the exact same data in the system to protect against possible drive failures.

Data rebuilding & verification for safety Whenever a drive failure occurs, simply replace with a new one and the RAID 1 controller can automatically rebuild (duplicate) the same original data from the drive which has not been failed into the new drive and get the system back to its original RAID 1 operational state. Moreover, the additional verification function allows you to scan the new drive after rebuilding of data has completed to make sure that all data are intact and usable.

Backup with your own preference. Immediate back up is not always a good thing when potential risks of virus attacks are high. Don't let your backup turn out to be a disaster. Stardom is the first in the world to develop the “Schedule Backup” function where you can set as to when you would like the mirroring (RAID 1) back up to be initiated. With the schedule backup function, the system would not immediately mirror all the data on the drives but rather perform backup as scheduled. This prevents and delays immediate infections to the backup drive within the system when virus attacks.

System monitoring made easy The frontal LCD display allows you to monitor your SR2 conveniently by indicating critical information such as the drive and fan health, the system temperature and visual warnings if there may be malfunctions occurring so you’ll know exactly what to do without having to fidget around searching for the causes.

Time Machine friendly SR2 supports the Time Machine included in the Mac OS X via FireWire 800 or USB 3.0(or USB2.0) connectivity (HFS+ drive format required), all of your system files can be speedily backed up to the RAID 1 unit to extend an extra level of protection for your contents.
