Compatibility
Barracuda XT hard drives feature the industry’s newest high-speed SATA interface—SATA 6Gb/s. This provides customers the opportunity to maximize performance as the industry develops controllers, applications and associated architectures to fully exploit this increased interface speed. In addition, Barracuda XT drives are also fully compatible with legacy SATA 1.5Gb/s and SATA 3Gb/s interfaces, giving customers a future-proof hard drive with full backward compatibility.
